The cover has some discoloration aware, but the inside is very clean. And the Vargas prints are amazing.

Appears to be 1st edition (copyright page states 1942, no mention of later printings). Significant wear, as shown in photos. Most notably, the covering has come off the spine, revealing the binding. Bumps to corners and surfaces of boards. No dust jacket. All pages and boards are secure, although the binding staples are rusted and loosing their grip on the front cover (shown in photos). Should be handled with care. Moderate foxing to pages – the illustrations still shine in vivid pink, blue, and purple. Please inspect all photos.

First British edition of Iris Vorel’s ‘Be Your Own Astrologer’, originally published in the US in 1935. This British First Edition was published by the Quality Press Ltd in London in 1942. It carries the ‘BOOK PRODUCTION WAR ECONOMY STANDARD’ authorisation. The original red cloth is in good condition, with light peeling of cloth from upper and side of front board. Front inner paper hinge cracked but webbing strong. Rear inner paper hinge cracked but webbing again strong. No markings to text. Original owner’s name on first title page. Overall, a good copy inside and out of this interesting vintage astrology guide.
