Dr. Marty Makary is a surgical oncologist and hepatobiliary/pancreatic surgeon by training, a public health policy researcher, and currently serves as the Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), bringing expertise from Johns Hopkins University where he was a professor and chief of Islet Transplant Surgery.
